What ridge capping does
Ridge caps cover the joins where two roof slopes meet — the ridges along the top and the hips down the corners. They're the most exposed part of a tile roof, which is why they're usually the first place leaks start.
Loose, cracked or missing caps
Caps that rock underfoot, gaps under the caps, or cracked pointing all let wind-driven rain in. Depending on their condition, caps are re-bedded and re-pointed, or replaced and installed new.

Questions
Is ridge capping the same as re-pointing?
They're closely related: ridge capping covers the caps themselves, while re-bedding and re-pointing renew the mortar that holds and seals them. Most ridge jobs involve both.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
We offer a workmanship warranty, on top of your automatic rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ask us for the details that apply to your job.
